The Perfect Accessory

The Perfect Accessory

Greetings Readers,Recently we bore witness to quite a ghastly scene at a gala we recently participated. A lady most probably Robert De Niro's arms crossed extremely threateningly uninterested "Meet the Parents" faces.

Although her natural elegance and heart melting embarrassed smile was admirable, one couldn't help but shaking one's head either in pity or amusement. No way in the world could she see this glass of champagne remotely as half full?
This prompted us to write entry which evidently introduces you to fine art of securing the perfect accessory: Although this subject is quite extensive and definitely demands a string a future installment, we will at least lay out some rules that we gleaned from years and years of gathering data from the silky trenches of fashion. How can you transform your companion into the perfect accessory, one that compliments your outfit but also becomes an extension of your personality?
-Cardinal Rules
1 Rule: Tell them what they are getting into... just like Hemingway nothing breaks one's spirit than realizing that we're in something polar opposite from what we've imagined or been described. If we are talking about a per plate gala with a fashion who put on to raise awareness for the plight of the little teddy bears of amazon -if it exist- don't paint it as football match in suit to a gentlemen simply to stir interest. Not only your date will feel deceived but you've most likely jeopardized a friendship and rid yourself of a potential fashion partner in crime. But at the same time, describe the event by its purpose: A dinner event put on to raise awareness about the bears in the Amazon, you won't be bored. It should be as simple as this instead of an existential analysis. By the way, about the fashion show, "Probably a last minute add to the night, quite a nice touch don't you think?"
-2 Rule: Lay out your don'ts: This is your event. Your name is stamped on that envelope or you've socially orchestrated your entry to this admission to this event. Lay out your rules and expectations, most importantly your don'ts. Instead of cramming to much in someone's mind, just bring their attention to the don'ts that way everything else should theoretically be good.Leave some room for spontaneity and personality. If after reading this you still want to go as far as designing draconian rules or their every moves and sentences we have bad news for you. This type of robot isn’t out on the market yet and if that were the case, expects the waitlist to span, to say the least, a lifetime.
-3 Rule: Find something that will interest your companion. This rule is as important as the aforementioned for the power of the willing is a force to be reckoned with. Take on aspect of the event and link it to them. From "You will love the dresses" to "I talked to Joe and he's coming to" the possibilities although endless must reflect their personalities. Now that we’ve pointed the essential rules that will allow you to transform anyone into a WILLING accessory, our next entry to explore color coordination and other original ideas.
.Sincerely yours,
MeJeanne Couture

Fashion : Mirror of Your Soul

One of first things we all agreed on when introducing MeJeanne Couture was that fashion is more much assembling cool looking garments together and piecing together a jaw dropping outfit. Our main aim was to chisel personalities on fabric, allows dresses to reflect one's mood, attitude and motives.

In this blog entry, we will whisper something to you that we all should think about, understand, consider, adopt and finally preach. Next time, you are going to a party, gala, or simply going out ask yourself a couple of questions

1. How am I feeling and do I want to convey or hide?

2. What effect do I want to create tonight?

3. Now something more fun "Who am I tonight?"

Long gone are the days when you had to write books, make speeches or even talk in order to make your presence known and tell who you are. Allow your choice of clothing, your make up, the color palette of our ensemble do be your agent, silently negotiating and selling your audience on who you are at that moment.

After deep reflection you will realize that you have the power to convey or be whatever or whomever you want by choosing what you wear and the attitude that supplements it. Do you want to be a vampy siren capable of bringing men to their doom, then wear red, darken these eyes and add to the mix a slow articulation of words and intense high contact. Would you want to suggest that you are a beauty interested in the deeper aspect of life and despite your physical charms, it is your mind and your never-ending thirst for culture that dazzle the minds of your victims, allow lavender to suggest the magnificent and an old fashion hairstyle retouched to appeal to modern eyes?

Fashion, although it can be effortless in its aim or craft is like a quest for virtuosity. Just like a music virtuoso, you work hard to understand the concept, night and day study techniques battling difficulties in order to gravitate toward a highly personal and stylized interpretation of music. At the end when everything has been absorbed, vanquished, you simply wonder: What is it that I feel? What is it that I want my audience to discover in this performance?

I have no doubt that fashion in the same vein, can be understood and mastered and come to represent a highly individual art or the most delightful of weapon. Let's take a disarmingly simple resolution but one that will subsist as you think about it. Fashion will no longer be a passive activity. Putting garments and wondering why we are not getting the attention we deserve, or being baffled by the fact we are getting the opposite reaction that we once sought.

In the next blog entries under the "Fashion: Mirror of your soul" title, I will reveal more and more. Stick with us and you'll have people wonder what you are doing to them while none of your fingers are raised, except in the case of a gentleman delicately submitting his admiration with a kiss on your hand.

Sincerely Yours,

MeJeanne Couture
